Location
The Early Music Society library is located off the
recital hall on the second floor in the Maritime
Conservatory of the Performing Arts (MCPA), 6199 Chebucto Rd.,
Halifax.
The Library Catalogue is available for viewing or
download (pdf) here.
Copies may also be ordered in print form for $5 each.
A sub-catalogue of music for viola da gamba is available
for viewing or download (pdf) here.
Note that the music is listed by increasing complexity
of parts, so the list repeats alphabetically several
times.



Library Policy
Hours:
By appointment.
Access:
The library is open to EMS members and Maritime
Conservatory staff. Members and staff call MCPA main
desk (423-6995) to arrange access. Non-members contact
the librarian, Anja Pearre at apearre@gmail.com or 422-7879. Some restrictions will apply. The MCPA main
desk will require you to sign for the library key.
Please show your EMS membership card when you arrive.

Open to anyone in Nova Scotia. Items may be returned by
mail to Early Music Society Library, c/o MCPA, 6199 Chebucto Road, Halifax, NS, B3L 1K7.
Photocopies:
It is prohibited to photocopy print music.
General:
Music is
organized into boxes containing solo material, duets,
trios, trio sonatas, etc. Much of this is for recorders
in various combinations. You may search these boxes for
whatever music is useful to you. Procedures for signing
this out are posted in the library itself. Returns
should be handed in at the MCPA main desk.
